Tales From The Pit

As I am deeply connected to the independent punk/rock scene as a photographer, I regularly take pictures of concerts in the evening or at music festivals. It's a long-term project to document this unique world-wide music scene.

I focus on photographing bands for whom I feel deeply about their music and stage presence. I always try to show the essence of the band through my photos. I challenge myself to try and show meaningful and emotional moments during concerts.

In these different pictures you can recognize Gilla Band (Ireland), Fontaines D.C., Viagra Boys (Sweden) and Protomartyr (U.S.A).

West Belfast

During my Erasmus exchange in Ireland as a master's degree student specialising in peace and conflict studies, I felt the need to come to West Belfast, Northern Ireland. Indeed, as a photographer, even though I have studied the Northern Irish conflict in depth, I felt the need to experience a more tangible aspect of a post-conflict context. I decided to shoot in black and white in order to reflect a neutral view on an unsettling atmosphere.

Slí an Atlantaigh Fhiáin

I lived for about six months along the wild Atlantic coast in Galway, Ireland. It is one of the most inspiring places I have ever been. I walked several times along the Cliffs of Moher. After discovering the Burren, and passing by Doolin, you can walk along the coast, close to the edge, surrounded by the wind. The photographs are meant to show the equilibrium between the light, the edge, the wild Atlantic and the wind that forms a spectacular view on nature. I hope the photos will allow you to immerse yourself in it.

La Messe de Minuit festival

I was able to do a photographic report on the entire first edition of the rock festival La Messe de Minuit in September 2019.

With a total of ten bands over three days, the reportage was intense. It paints a portrait of some of the music figures who marked the French and European independent scene of that year.

Here is a selection of the most significant shots of the concerts.

Europe 2020: between culture and a global pandemic

I did a photographic reportage in Europe, lasting one month between the cities of Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Hamburg and Amsterdam.

In July 2020, a brief truce between two confinements, I decided to take a look at these European cities that were unknown to me and that I discovered in such a particular context.

BREATHE IN/OUT

I made the cover of the BREATHE IN/OUT album by the French indie band Lysistrata in 2019.

Between exhalation and inspiration, an infinitely brief moment when you lift your head above water.

Below is the triptych that led to the selection of the shot and the work of the colours.
